National Knit In Public Day!
I've finished sock no.1 of Winwick Mum's sock-a-long.
And I will say it here and say it loud:
Winwick mum's instructions are bloody brilliant!!
Very clear, easy-to-follow, great pictures: just perfect.
I prefer to knit socks on four DPNs (double pointed-needles), but her instructions include methods for cable needle knitters too.
I finished this little beauty in no time at all, and learned - finally - how to do the Kitchener grafting stitch for the toe.
Sock number two is already cast on, and will be coming out with me later as I celebrate National Knit In Public day! (Although when I announced that this morning, GD happily informed me that I'm always knitting in public!)
Wow, praise indeed! Thank you very much, Tracey - and your sock looks fantastic! You'll be impressed at how quickly you manage the second sock now that you've cracked the first one - you'll have a pair in no time! xx
ReplyDeleteLovely socks. You did a great job. Sock knitting can become addictive with all the fun sock yarns out there. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeletewell done you. I hope to get some dpn's soon to have a go at knitting a pair of socks, as doing it the Magic Loop way is not the way for me!!
ReplyDeleteA lovely sock.

I have a pair of socks like that one - hand knitted as well. They've very warm and cosy.
