What to do in Lockdown on a Rainy Day

Here are my ideas for fun things to do during this strange time when the weather is miserable outside.

1. Work out what you can actually achieve.

We are already being sort-of punished by having to stop indoors/being limited in our usual activities; so don't add to that by making a list of impossible tasks, or a list of things you "should have done by now".  We could all have lost half a stone / written half a novel / refitted the loft since the end of March and it's ok to be just getting through this.
This is my current to-do list:

2. Art and Crafts

Yes, you can spend money and buy antique pieces of pearl or jet, wait weeks for them to arrive and then add them to the pile of "one day I'm going to.." or you can grab some things out of recycling right now, have some fun and if it goes wrong put it back in recycling.
This is our attempt at a slide into a swimming pool for Playmobil toys!

3. Cooking/baking
This again can be made as difficult or as easy as you want.
There is very little access to flour or yeast where we live, so quite simply, I haven't been baking anything that requires it!  Vintage Vixen has a super recipe for biscuits that are made from peanut butter, sugar and an egg Peanut Butter Cookies .  I can totally recommend them - we made them with a 7-year old and a 5-year old helping.  Yum!

What have you managed to do on rainy days in lockdown?

  1. I am thankful that I have a good supply of fabric and yarn so crafting continues, in the short term anyway.

  2. Those peanut butter cookies were the only thing my Dad baked. The recipe is on the back of the jars of avery popular brand of peanut butter over here.

I remember them being quite tasty.
