Ladies spa day on the cheap...
Today me and a chum decided we would give the ladies at the care home a real treat, and organised a pampering 'spa' day for them!
The plan was to offer: hand massages, nail trimming and painting, toenail painting, facial massage, face pack, and head massage.
I had managed to get hold of some silk flowers on Freecycle, and having decorated empty jars with some lace and buttons, I put some beads into each jar along with a couple of cut out wooden hearts, and then a couple of silk roses. These made very pretty gifts for each lady today.
My chum had visited the very exclusive shop Primarni, and for just a few pounds had bought everything we needed: nail polish, remover, cotton pads, facemasks, face cream, and even little cucumber-scented pads to pop over the eye whilst facemasks were taking time to moisturise.
En route we bought low-sugar lemonade which we served in wine glasses.
It went down a storm!
It went down well with the staff too as we were entertaining a third of the clientele, meaning they could give other folk a bit more attention than usual.
All round happy people.
That's what we like.

Aren't you just gorgeous! That sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing to do! I know they enjoyed and appreciated it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea. My mum very rarely had her nails painted however loved it when they did them in the care home, a bit of pampering does wonders for cheering people up.

ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely thing to do. I bet those ladies all felt really special after their treat. Have a fabulous weekend Tracey, you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI used to do something similar with the Red Cross, alas it's something they no longer do. We used to offer the ladies a choice of facial and make up or a manicure. Many chose the manicure because it lasted until our next visit. Well done you and your friend for giving these ladies a boost.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, I'd come to that spa!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely treat for the ladies, well done you, that was so kind x
